Flow Isn’t Magic. It’s Engineered.

The framework I use to shift from Chaos → Clarity daily (and how you can too)

Happy Thursday, Reader

Have you ever felt like your mind is in overdrive whilst your body is stuck in cement?

You can’t seem to execute on the hundreds of ideas you have…

And end up in a perpetual loop of analysis paralysis and self-sabotage?

[read to the end for an opportunity to break through this together]

Here’s what haunts me most about overthinking…

It’s not just the lost hours or missed opportunities.

It’s the compound cost of inaction.

Every day you spend trapped in analysis paralysis is a day someone else is executing the idea you’ve been sitting on for months.

Every moment of self-sabotage is building evidence that you can’t trust yourself to follow through.

The real tragedy isn’t that you’re stuck - it’s that your mind is keeping score.

Each time you choose rumination over action, you’re reinforcing a neural pathway that says ‘I don’t trust myself to execute.’

This becomes your identity - the person with great ideas who never follows through.

Years from now, will you be telling the same stories about the projects you ‘almost’ started?

Or will you be the person who learned to engineer their way into flow states and actually built something remarkable?

Well, you’re not alone - I’ve been there and what I’m going to share with you today, is a formula...

To breakthrough the mental walls that close in on you when you

overthink and the secret ingredient bridges thought into action…

I know what it’s like to feel like to keep looping back on the same lessons and never break through.

Paralysis from analysis. Days lost.

An awareness that their potential is slipping through your fingers while you remain stuck in mental loops…

What if I told you, it’s not a laziness or motivation issue, but a misalignment one?

Solving Overthinking

The truth is, Over-thinking only occurs when you ruminate.

Rumination is past or future rooted

Whilst meditation (the cure) is present rooted.

One takes you everywhere except the here and now

And the other brings you back to what you can control (the now)

Do you see the difference?

The paradox of wisdom is, the answers you’re seeking are not as complex as you think they will be

We spend all of our time reading, learning, seeking - just to find out what we already knew.

(Trust me, I’ve done all of the above for a decade now)

My point is - the answers are simple, but that doesn’t mean they’re easy in practice.

I made a meme to better illustrate this lol…

The simple (but not easy) act of shining your torch of awareness into the present moment instantly kills overthinking.

Overthinking only exists when you exist inside of your mind,

but when you instead

take the seat of the observer, you gain an objective, bird's eye view on what’s really occurring.

Rumination feels like reflection.

But it’s just your mind rehearsing old wounds or projecting future scenarios.

You’re not thinking, you’re being dragged by thoughts.

Meditation is observation of the whole scene.

The ability to observe your behaviors, thoughts and patterns free from judgement.

As if you were a pedestrian watching traffic go by.

Whereas rumination is like being thrown around in that same traffic, and trying to jump into each vehicle passing by.

Meaning you lose your sense of self, and sense of equilibrium.

Elite performers practice meditation (consciously or unconsciously) through pulling one lever - total presence or awareness.

If you’ve followed me for a while now, you’ll know,

Michael Jordan is one of these elites I reference

He’s not even my generation, but his state of mind taught me all I needed to know about presence awareness

See rumination collapses your mind into a narrow, negative loop.

Meditation widens the lens.

Rumination is strongly linked to identity “I AM these thoughts”

Meditation is pure insight “I’m the overseer of these thoughts”

The key you are not the voice in your head.

You are the one who hears it.

Okay, you might be thinking - that’s great Milan, but what can I practically do to make this shift?

The Magic of Flow

Flow states and Meditative states are siblings.

They’re deeply intertwined and can be harnessed into your day-to-day living.

And the crazy thing is, that is your natural state or way of being.

But we allow everything else around us to pull us out of that...

hence why I said, misalignment.

Alignment is simply returning to how we were designed to operate, rather than how the world decided we should.

The magic of flow, is that your focus is fully dialed in.

Focus is simply the centralization of your energy,

rather than letting it scatter in a thousand directions.

When you are in flow, you experience synchronicities and serendipity that defies logic.

You open yourself up as a channel for the divine to communicate to you or through you.

You will have your best ideas, and better yet, have the willpower to execute on them.

Flow is the bridge between your ideas and execution.

So your role is to create the conditions for flow states to occur in your life.

Look, practically you can’t think your way out of a thinking problem.

That’s like trying to sniff your way out of a cocaine problem.

You need movement. Micro-actions. Momentum.

Meditation is great.

But movement creates more winners than meditation.

Clarity comes from doing, not just thinking.

Whenever you catch yourself in moments of overthinking,

the best medicine is to move.

That doesn’t have to look like running a marathon.

It could mean walking
It could mean a conversation
It could mean committing to and completing a micro task

Whatever gets you out of your mind and back into that seat as an observer.

For me, it’s writing, it’s training and it’s walking.

But what precedes all of the above, is intention.

If we are three-part beings (mind, body, spirit) it’s logical that our optimal state of being acknowledges and nurtures all three parts.

For the Mind there is Observation
For the Body there is Movement
For the Spirit there is Intention

Intention isn’t just setting goals or making to-do lists.

It’s the spiritual operating system that runs beneath everything you do.

Think of intention as your internal compass.

Before I sit down to write, I don’t just open my laptop and hope for the best.

I take 30 seconds to set a clear intention: ‘I’m going to serve my readers by sharing something that genuinely helps them break through their mental barriers.’

Before I train, it’s not just about burning calories: ‘I’m going to honour my body and build the energy I need to show up fully in my life.’

Before I walk, it’s not just movement: ‘I’m going to clear my mental fog and return to presence.’

You see the difference?

Intention transforms mechanical actions into purposeful rituals.

Without intention, you’re just going through motions.

With it, every action becomes aligned with your deeper purpose.

Your subconscious mind knows the difference, and it responds accordingly.

Before any significant activity, pause and ask:

What am I really trying to accomplish here? How do I want to show up? What energy am I bringing to this moment?

This isn’t woo-woo spirituality - it’s practical psychology.

You’re literally programming your nervous system for the state you want to access.

So, overthinking, self-sabotage and breaking the cycles of habit…

Can be solved through present moment awareness -> intentionality -> movement.

In doing this, you will create the conditions to enter flow.

Even as I type this, and hopefully as you read this,

I’m only focused on the very next word.

This letter is a result of flow.

So the big secret is, Flow isn’t magic.

It’s engineered through your intention.

Every time you successfully move from overthinking → awareness → intentional action → flow, you’re not just solving today’s problem.

You’re literally rewiring your Mind.

Each successful cycle builds evidence.

Evidence that you can trust yourself.

Evidence that you can move from idea to execution.

Evidence that you’re the type of person who follows through.

Your mind starts to default to flow instead of fear.

I’ve watched this transformation in my own life.

Three years ago, I’d spend weeks analyzing a single decision… Now, I can recognize the onset of overthinking, set my intention, take one physical action, and slip into flow within minutes.

It’s like compound interest for your consciousness.

The first few times feel forced - you’re fighting against years of mental conditioning.

But around the 10th time, something shifts.

Your nervous system starts to recognize the pattern.

By the 50th time, it becomes your new default.

This is why consistency matters more than intensity.

One moment of intentional flow is worth more than ten hours of forced productivity.

Here’s the truth most people don’t want to hear:

Your potential isn’t slipping away because you lack ability.

It’s slipping away because you’re not creating the conditions for it to emerge.

When you’re aligned, the mind quiets itself.

When you’re present, the next step reveals itself.

When you’re in flow, it feels like life is building itself through you.

That’s the power of alignment. That’s the power of presence.

Start there. And watch your output 5x, not from trying harder, but by resisting less...

By the way I just opened 3 private 1:1 spots for high-performing founders and creators who feel like they’re running on mental overdrive. [This has been closed since April]
