You’re Not Waiting. You’re Hiding.
Happy Sunday, Reader
One of the biggest myths I see online is this idea of being a chosen one…
I too, used to think this way, until I realized something
You can choose to be chosen.
What do I mean by that?
Being chosen isn’t something that happens to you externally
In fact, it is the intention that is set inwardly,
that is then later matched outwardly.
Every great mind that decided they wanted to maximise their human potential...
At some point, made a choice internally to do so,
and later the outer world caught up.
And if you don’t consciously make this choice,
you will unconsciously conform to what the world decides for you (mediocrity)
You have to elect yourself, before you are elected by the world.
You have to be worthy within, before you are worthy without.
And then during the time lag,
whilst waiting for the outer world to catch up,
you have to keep this level of conviction in your mind
without being shaken.
See, I decided years before I gained my first follower
that I would have a platform and be seen by millions
And there were times where I was tested to see if I still wanted that
But my conviction carried me through - the internal choice I made
years ago, is only just now materializing.
And now it’s easy to look from the outside in and say
“He was chosen to do this” but in fact, I chose.
Did Jesus not say “the Kingdom of heaven is within”?
Did Rumi not say “what you are seeking is also seeking you”?
Is it not taught "As above, so below; as within, so without”?
But you might be thinking, aren’t there moments when life "elects" you
before you’ve internally elected yourself?
A calling. A crisis. A sudden responsibility. A spotlight you didn’t ask for…
Yes, but here’s the key nuance:
If you’re chosen before you choose yourself, you’ll sabotage it.
If the external comes before the internal, it will crush you instead of grow you.
That’s why so many people fumble opportunities
they didn’t have the inner structure to hold the outer weight.
I’ve experienced this very same thing
opportunities were given to me before I was internally ready
And I learnt that
the world doesn’t just reward potential that others see in you
It tests your readiness to receive what you've been given
That’s why the real work…
Is becoming the kind of person who can hold what you ask for.

Being Chosen doesn’t mean being Original
It just means being authentic.
I’m reading David Ogilvy’s work right now (the godfather of advertising) and something he speaks about is the idea of Originality
‘Originality is the most dangerous word in advertising’ - Rosser Reeves
“I have never made the slightest effort to compose anything original.” - Mozart
He goes on to explain that being original is a myth reserved for those who call themselves creative
but don’t actually win in life.
The fact is, we box ourselves in and think we are lesser than
because we see others do things that we think we’re simply not capable of.
We witness professional performances and masterpieces
And instead of inspiring us, we shrink in our self-belief
We get caught in the Venus flytrap of comparison.
But I’ve got news for you: You don’t need to re-invent the wheel, to win.
Nothing original exists under the sun
Everything is a remix of past events and experiences.
With that wisdom, you can shift your mind from
“They are simply chosen to be great and I’m not...”
to
“They’ve done it, and that’s proof that I can too.”
If you believe in the interconnectedness of nature and spirit,
this statement holds even more weight…
If there's one consciousness, and each person is an expression of that source only appearing different physically…
Then that means you hold the power to do something someone else has done.
You can attain Christ, Krishna, Buddha Consciousness - if you choose to.
You can also create masterful performances like Pro Athletes or Artists
if you choose to.
We’re all made of the same ingredients, just re-mixed.
So you don’t need to create something ‘New’
Haven’t you ever heard: “Steal like an Artist”
Do that - well, I prefer Bruce Lee’s take:
Steal like an Artist
Keep what’s good
Discard what’s bad
Add what’s uniquely your own
That’s the formula to being original. Is there a skill to this? Of course.
Even knowing what to steal takes training your taste.
The illusion of Readiness
Most people wait to feel ready before choosing themselves.
But readiness is not a feeling, it’s a decision.
You don’t become ready and then act.
You act and then become ready, and what happens is you will build evidence Which will further support this idea of feeling ready.
Elect yourself first.
The opposite is also true - Every day you delay choosing yourself,
the world reinforces that delay with evidence.
More silence. More stagnation. More ‘proof’ you aren’t meant for more.
Until not choosing becomes your identity, and you remain stuck
in the invisible box you have drawn around yourself.
Choosing yourself is difficult - because if you fail, there’s no one left to blame.
But this radical accountability creates the shift from believing the world decides your fate to you do.
So no, you don’t need to be chosen.
You need to choose yourself.
And if you maintain this level of conviction, do the work that is necessary
Outwork and out-obsess everyone else
Then the world has no choice but to believe you, and will eventually say
“They were chosen for this.”
